Florida Law - Which State's Court Will Hear the Case?
Florida follows the
Uniform Custody Act
, as does every other
state.
Cases:
Birnbaum 615 So2d 241 (1993) (wife brought infant child to Florida possibly wrongfully, then resided there for
six months, then brought divorce action; court did have jurisdiction to decide custody issue in spite
of claim that she may have brought child there without spouse's consent).
