Be Accepting of Your Children
Parents need to be accepting of their children, even though often the
natural tendency is just the reverse.
Everyone says that Hugh, Jr. looks just like Hugh. Tamara thinks so,
too. Sometimes, she feels like she's harboring a snake in her nest.
Sometimes, when Hugh, Jr. struts just like Hugh, Tamara
wants to run and scream. Not only is Hugh, Jr. a boy (a gender Tamara is
not too excited about, at the moment), but he is a carbon copy of his mess
of a father.
Tamara restrains herself. She knows that history does not have to
repeat itself. She overcomes her rejection and loves and nurtures
Hugh, Jr. despite his maleness and despite his similarity to Hugh.
