Financial Support
The judge wants each child to have financial support for things
such as medical care, a good neighborhood, and schools.
This issue often tilts toward the father.
While child support and alimony do something to make this a neutral
issue, there are cases where the father is significantly better off than the
mother, and child support and alimony will not do much to bridge the gap
between what the father can provide and the mother can provide.
This also becomes a factor in cases where the child needs expensive
medical-related things, such as ongoing therapeutic counseling or
special schooling.
