Your Lawyer's History

Many divorce lawyers have themselves been divorced. If this is the case, it may be good to know how that divorce went.

Suppose the lawyer is a man who feels his wife "took him to the cleaners" and has been very bitter about it ever since.

If you're a woman, you might not get the most sympathetic treatment.

If you're a man, the lawyer might be tempted to see your wife as his wife, and thus make decisions or propose strategies that really don't benefit you.
