Buy a new car with a high resale value
Some divorce strategists will advise women to buy a new car that has a high resale value,
such as a prestige foreign car.
After the divorce, you sell that car, buy a much more modest one, and pocket the difference.
We do not recommend this strategy in general, but we can imagine situations where it is a
reasonable thing to do. This would be a situation where your husband is overpowering
you personally and legally, and you have no ordinary recourse.
