Getting Regular Billings

Be sure that your lawyer bills once a month, and that the bills are fully descriptive.

A bill can, for example, list separately each phone call, meeting, court trip, and hour spent on research and drafting.

You should be able to add up the numbers and get to the same total the lawyer did.

If not, don't be afraid to call and ask about it. There may be a mistake. Or the lawyer may be over-billing you.
