Indiana Law - Items Included in Gross Income
Gross income includes all of the following:

Wages, salary, bonuses, severance pay.

Gross income less necessary expenses of a business.

Potential income if the payer is voluntarily unemployed or underemployed.

The value of "In kind" benefits.

Social security, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, and workmen's compensation.

Pensions and annuities.
-
Interest, dividends, capital gains, and trust income.

Gifts and prizes.
-
Alimony from other marriages.
Gross income does
not
include welfare benefits and food stamps.
Also, you may deduct support costs for prior-born children of another relationship, incremental
health insurance costs for the child, and some alimony orders of prior relationships.
