Can I Get Child Support Before the Divorce is Final?
In most cases, a judge will grant you temporary child support during
the divorce proceeding,
as long as it appears that you will be entitled to child support when
the divorce is final.
This is to enable you and the children to survive during the proceeding, and
to prevent your spouse (usually, the husband) from "starving you into submission."
