Possibly Fewer Women Will Divorce Now Than a Decade Ago
At age 20-24 in June 1990, 12.5% of all married women had already
been divorced.
Following recent trends, 37.6% of women who were married by age 24
will eventually be divorced.
Overall, around 40% of women who are on their first marriages in 1990
will have marriages that end in divorce.
This is down from 45-50% of such women who were on their first
marriages in 1975. This indicates a decline in the incidence of divorce.
