Illinois Law - How is Child Support Enforced? The court may make provision for the support payments to be withheld from the payer's paycheck, or by deduction from the payer's bank account, or to be made through a government office which will keep track of them. Also, if the Illinois Department of Public Aid must institute a collection proceeding, it will charge a penalty of 10% of the amount due. Section 5/507(b), 5/516.
