Illinois Law - What Other Factors Determine Child Support?

In awarding child support, along with the guidelines, the court will consider the following factors:

  • The financial resources and needs of the child;
  • The financial resources and needs of the custodial parent;
  • The standard of living the child would have enjoyed had the marriage not been dissolved;
  • The physical and emotional condition of the child, and his or her educational needs;
  • The financial resources and needs of the non-custodial parent;
  • Very high or very low income of the non-custodial parent;
  • A child's special needs;
  • A child's medical, dental or hospital expenses;
