Indiana Law - Can One Party Alone Bring About a Divorce?
One party may commence a divorce proceeding without the other party's consent.
As long as the other party is formally notified about the proceeding, the court may grant a divorce even
if the other party does not respond.
The court may also grant a divorce even if the other party does not want one, as long
as the court is convinced that the marriage is irretrievably broken.
