Ohio Law - Can the Court Order Arbitration?
In cases involving children, the court may order mediation for the
custody, care, and visitation issues.
To encourage full disclosure during the mediation process, the law
provides that the mediator may not be a witness in a subsequent court
case.
If one of the parents has been convicted of abuse, the judge must state in
writing why he or she thinks mediation is in the best interests of the
parties.
