Pennsylvania Law - Professional Degrees Professional degrees are not marital property in Pennsylvania. However, the court may take into account the increased earnings potential of a party who has a professional degree in setting the alimony award. The court may also take into account the benefit a spouse rendered by putting another spouse through professional school and the contributions by the non-professional spouse as a homemaker. Section 3701(b).
