Pennsylvania Law - When Might Alimony Be Modified? Alimony will be modified upon substantial and relatively permanent changes in the incomes or financial situations of either party. Alimony will be terminated if the recipient remarries or lives with another person of the opposite sex (other than a family member). If the payer dies, the obligation to pay alimony will end, unless the parties provided otherwise in the divorce agreement. Sections 3701(e), 3706, 3707.
