Cases: Thomas v Thomas (1980) 603 SW2d 356 (70/30 property division, based on ages, education, earning ability, and other facts of the case). Finch (1992) 825 SW2d 218 (court awarded 65% of estate to the wife and 35% to the husband; the husband could earn $30,000 and wife could earn only $13,000; moreover, the husband had abused their daughter). Vallone (1982) 644 SW2d 455 (where business was worth $1 million, 47% of initial capital was traceable to husband's separate property, court awarded of 70% of remainder to wife). Faram v. Gervitz Faram (1995) 895 SW2d 839 (husband awarded 27.1%, wife 72.9% of community estate, in light of husband's violent and abusive nature, husband's steady income, and husband's waste of community estate after separation).
