Until What Age Does Child Support Typically Run? In most states, child support typically stops when the youngest child of the marriage reaches age 18. If there are two or more children, the amount of support is often adjusted downward when the first child reaches age 18. Sometimes, especially if the child is attending college, the parties agree, or the court orders, that support continues to age 21.
