What is "Marital Property?"
In most states, all property purchased, earned, or won during the marriage is marital property.
Marital property generally includes the following:

A home if purchased with earnings of either or both parties, if earned during the marriage.

A pension plan, to the extent accrued during the marriage.

The value of bank accounts, mutual funds, etc., at least to the extent the funds
deposited were earned by either party during the marriage.

Bank accounts from before the marriage that, upon marriage, were re-titled to joint names.

A home purchased before the marriage that, during the marriage, was re-titled to joint names.
