What This Calculator Can Do For You.
This calculator allows you to estimate how much you and your spouse will
each keep after you sell your home. This helps you decide whether or not
to sell the home.
How it Works:
- You fill in your best estimates (or alternate possibilities) for the
value of your home, the percent selling costs, the mortgage balance on the
date of sale, and the percent of sale proceeds each spouse will keep. (Press <Tab>, not <Enter> after each
number.)
- When you have entered all the numbers, you click "Submit for
Calculation."
- We send you, via e-mail, the results of this calculator run, that is,
the proceeds to each party from the sale after taxes and expenses.
- You use this information to make your decisions and make your case.
We will calculate the following:
- The amount you will keep from the sale of your home, after expenses.
- The amount your spouse will keep from the sale of your home, after
expenses.
