PDF printing. The new PDF printing code was causing some users to be logged out when they tried to print. We have addressed that in this release.
State Specific
Colorado
- Tax rate. We updated the state tax rate to 4.4%
Florida
- Number of Children. We changed the way we calculate the number of children shown on Affidavit lines 40 and 66. Above line 40, we are now including all children of the relationship eligible for child support. Above line 66, we have made the field user-entry (not calculated), because in Florida it is common for the attorney to omit children of other relationships. We now leave it up to you to determine how to enter the number of children on this line.
Illinois
- Validation for child support entries. On line 8b of the Affidavit, you enter a total child support amount paid under a court order on account of children not of the relationship. Below that, you enter an amount for each such child. We have implemented a validation that alerts you if the sum of the child support amounts for each child does not equal the total child support paid on account of children not of the relationship that you entered. A similar situation and validation applies on line 8c, with regard to amounts paid to the other parent but not under a court order.
Virginia
- The new Virginia Child Support guideline table is now incorporated in the software. The calculated amount of child support is higher at each income level. For example, in a sole custody situation with two children, if the custodial parent has $20,000 of gross annual wage income and the non-custodial parent has $80,000, child support under the prior table was $1,152. Under the new table, it is $1,353. The table itself now extends to $42,500 of monthly gross income ($510,000 of annual income). Previously it covered only $35,000 of monthly income ($420,000 of annual income). The statute provides for a percentage to be applied to incomes above the top level, depending on the number of children, and that percentage has not changed.
