This report may be called Community Property Division, if you are in a community property state.
This report shows the proposed division of marital property (or community property), as you have worked it out on the Analysis > Divide Property screen.
There are many options with respect to how this report is displayed.
If you click the link at the top of the screen for report options, you will see the options.
The options include:
- Include mortgage/lien detail lines with real estate and personal properties.
- Include property settlement lines at the bottom of this report.
- Include equalization payment lines at the bottom of this report.
- Include asset subtotal lines (cash-equivalant totals, non-retirement & retirement subtotal lines).
- Include lines showing the parties’ separate property at the bottom of this report.
- Include lines for children’s assets.
- Include graph of asset allocation.
There are also options with respect to what to show on the report.
These options include the following:
- Show asset title (H/W/J).
- Show valuation date.
- Show asset value on the left, then party amounts.
- Show dollar amount kept by each party for each asset.
- Show ownership percentages of each party for each asset.
- Also show ownership percentages of each party on the subtotal lines.
- Print Exhibit Id number for each asset and liability.
With respect to Exhibit IDs, you can set the IDs not to change. In that case, the Exhibit IDs will correspond to the Exhibit IDs of the actual exhibits, but they may get to be out of order, as you add additional assets or change the sequence of assets.
Or, you can set them to be renumbered each time.
You would set them to be renumbered each time if you are not going to actually create the exhibits until the Marital Property Division report is finalized.
With all these options for columns to display, it is possible to select more columns than can fit on a sheet of paper.
In that case, you can print the report in landscape mode. (This capability is available in the desktop version only.)
To do that, click the Print button at the top of the screen. When the print options dialog appears, specify landscape mode. If you wish to create a PDF, you may also select a PDF printer.
If you cannot print in landscape mode, you can export the report to Excel.
To do that, click the Export button at the very top of the screen, to the right of the Reports tab. (This option is available in the desktop version only.)
You may need to reformat a bit once the report is in Excel, but at that point you can print with the “shrink to fit” option.
Otherwise, you will have to reduce the number of columns that you select.
The software is not able to “shrink to fit” itself.
You may also give the report a different title; this is another of the options on the options screen.
